The play tested lp record is in Very Good + condition, and the gatefold cardboard sleeve is in Very Good + condition, showing wear with light bumps on the corners.  The inner paper sleeve is the VG original paper sleeve, showing some discoloring from age.

On this play-tested 1962 lp record, Jimmy Smith performs seven compositions, including his own "Bashin'" and "Walking on the Wild Side." On side one, Mr. Smith, organ, is backed by a big band, including Joe Newman and Doc Severinsen, trumpets; Tommy Mitchell and Urbie Green, trombones; Babe Clarke and Phil Woods, saxophones; George Duvivier, bass; Barry Galbraith, guitar; and Ed Shaughnessy, drums.  On side two, he is backed by Jimmy Warren, guitar; and Don Dailey, drums.  The album generated one single, "Walk on the Wild Side," which peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The legendary Creed Taylor was the producer, and disc jockey Del Shields wrote the liner notes.

Condition

This play-tested lp record has some light scratches and scuffs.  On side 1, anomalies were as follows: on tracks one and two, no anomalies; track three, one light click at the beginning and one light click near the end; and track four, no anomalies.  On side 2, the play testing revealed, as follows:  track one, one light click at the beginning; track two, three light clicks near the end; and track three, no anomalies. The light clicks did not interfere in hearing and listening to the musical performances.

"VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience,  Slight warps tht do not affect the sound are OK.  Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated playing has not misshapened the hole.  there may be come very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable.

"VG+ covers should have only minor wear. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than one inch long) at the bottom, the most vulnerable location.  Also, a VG+ cover may have some defacing, such as a cut-out marking.  Covers with cut-out markings can never be considered Near Mint."
