Salsoul is the ninth studio album by trailblazing Filipino African American singer Joe Bataan. The term ‘’Salsoul'' was born out of Bataan's love for salsa and soul, which developed during his youth in New York's Spanish Harlem. On Salsoul, the listener can get the full scope of Bataan's many talents. Ballads such as ‘’Mujer Mia'' and ‘’Peace, Friendship, Solidarity'' allow his heartfelt vocals to soar. The funky instrumental ‘’Latin Strut,'' showcases his skills as a pianist and arranger.
