The Joe Harriott Quintet – Abstract LP (orig. UK MONO Columbia Lansdowne Jazz Series 33SX 1477—1963)
Recorded: 5 October 1962 (side 1) & 22 November 1961 (side 2) ~ release date: April 1963.
On offer here is an original British MONO issue of THE JOE HARRIOTT QUINTET's first album on the HIGHLY COLLECTABLE COLUMBIA Lansdowne Jazz Series label. This album once belonged to the now deceased Brisbane (formerly Newcastle, Aust.) jazz historian and trumpet-flugelhorn player, RAY SCRIBNER.
This LP hardly ever turns up; so do not miss the opportunity to acquire one of the RAREST BRITISH MODERN JAZZ ALBUMS ever released!

front: beautiful glossy sheen—minimal handling wear (EX), water stain along bottom seam (G+), see digital photo #1; back: matt finish with minor handling wear & discolouration (majority of cover is VG+), some unsightly staining along bottom seam due to water damage & tape holding the bottom flap to the cover—very unfortunate (FAIR), “xxxxx 21-11-63 HP” written in felt pen & name stamp, see digital photo #2.
Record:
EX+ visual: beautiful glossy sheen—OUTSTANDING copy, the lightest hairline scuffs only; audible: just PLAYED LOUD through 100 WATT speakers and it SOUNDS SUPERB overall, with the most insignificant surface noise during the quieter passages only; labels: HARDLY ANY spindle wear, see digital photo #3. HARD TO FIND A BETTER COPY OF THE DISC!! DISC COMES INSIDE ORIGINAL EMI INNER BAG.
