Description

JOE HENDERSON          In 'n Out            Blue Note  BST 84166
Up for auction is an original 1965 Blue Note stereo pressing of Joe Henderson's 3rd release as a leader for Blue Note, "In 'n Out".  Comprised of 3 Henderson originals and 2 Dorham originals, this is a superb and underrated session. Features 1/2 of the John Coltrane quartet (Tyner and Jones), with Richard Davis on bass. Doesn't get much better in terms of a rhythm section. Essential Post-Bop session   DEAD WAX INFO:  Side 1 has BNST-84166-A etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BNST-84166-B etched into the dead wax. Both sides have VAN GELDER and STEREO and the Plastylite P stamped into the dead wax. OG Blue Note stereo press, circa 1965.   VINYL VISUAL: VG+ AT BEST with a few light marks, one that looks a wee bit daunting (on the title track).but is actually VERY shallow. Labels show infrequent play, but the Side 1 label has some minor scuffing (only visible at an angle)
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ and MUCH better with GREAT fidelity and a very low noise level, only really noticeable on run-ins and between cuts (and a tiny bit noticeable on the quiet section of Dorham's "Brown Town" near the end of the track). Maybe heard a couple of stray pops as well over the duration of the entire lp. MOST OF THE LP PLAYS TO NEAR MINT. It was a joy to listen to while play grading.
COVER VISUAL: VG and better with general wear and slight discolouration. A 2" seam split (top) starting to show. SPINE IS GREAT. Corner bend bottom front right. Two (2) delete holes (one wasn't enough??!!) top and bottom front right hand side. Price sticker remnant rear top left. All-in-all shows pretty NICE.
Comes with OG 26 YEARS OF BLUE NOTE printed paper inner of the era (VG with the same damned 2 delete holes.....well, at least it's original). The lp is held in an Audiophile style rice plastic lined die-cut paper inner (nice heavy quality).   DETAILS ON SELLER AND SHIPPING
HELLO ALL. My name is Jamie, and I have been collecting records steadily for over 45 years.  After a bit of a respite from selling on Ebay, I am back and will be selling a ton of stuff over the next few years. My tastes run all over the map, so there will be something for everyone. All opened items will be visually AND aurally graded. All Dead Wax info will be listed. Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item)
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER).             Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.
If you have issue with an item, PLEASE work with me to achieve an outcome that will be to your satisfaction. I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory.       SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis. THANKS FOR READING, everyone.       Occasionally I will be selling rare and collectible CDs. Shipping obviously will be much less, around $5 CANADIAN within North America.
