Such a fantastic, iconic Northern Soul dancer.
This is the rare and legitimate reissue of both excellent sides of Joey's legendary rare soul 45 originally issued on Detroit's Mi-Val label in 1973 . A original copy of this on the Mi-Val label is already at £1,566 on John Manship's Rare Soul Man auction with over a week still to go (at the time of posting this listing). Only a relatively small number of people on earth own the original Mi-Val copy of this. This is a chance to obtain a legal limited, excellent condition reissue, released on excellent quality UK vinyl, in 2002.
There is world-wide demand for the original and this legal reissue is now itself becoming scarce, certainly in this condition, which I grade as 'Ex' / 'VG++' (see below) as the vast bulk of the limited run, has now made the one-way trip into sitting happily in rare soul collections, around the world. I am only selling this because I have another copy (I have acquired two copies over the years), so this is my spare copy.
Out of principle, I grade as a buyer as I would expect sellers to grade what they sell to me. In my opinion, this is an 'Ex' / 'VG++] condition record. I've only ever played this once or twice, since I acquired it around 2002/2003, when it was sold to me. So I am confidently grading the vinyl as 'Ex' (also the paper company sleeve I'll conservatively grade as a 'VG'. There are some minor creases and around a 3cm tear and some pen scribble in one corner).
I follow this Goldmine definition, when arriving at my grading:
EXCELLENT or EX or VG++ : minor scuffs which are only slightly visible. There may be more than a few scuffs and NO Scratches COVER: Artwork is still as close to perfect as can be. Some impression to the cover (minor outer ring wear) but no ink wear! Some slight creases to the corners, but not wrinkled and obtrusive to the eye. The corners can show white (where the artwork pasted slick was) meaning, slight wear. No seam splits or writing on the cover or taped repairs can make this grade.
There are a couple of minor paper scuffs visible, it plays through excellently and has a great gloss shine. Some UK dealers would grade this as a M- but I want to be as open and honest as possible.
