Johanna Martzy was a musician who recorded Bach's solo violin pieces. During the 1950s, she recorded a series of Bach works that included the Violin Concerto in E major and the Violin Concerto in A minor, as well as three sonatas and six suites for solo violin. These recordings are considered to be one of the most significant versions of Bach's solo violin recordings. Johanna's performance was highly regarded for its technical and emotional depth, and she is widely recognized as one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century.
Belvedere Studio is not a company, but a recording studio located in the Provence region of southern France. It was established in 1973 and has since become a renowned recording studio where many famous musicians and bands have recorded albums, including Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, and Francoise Hardy. It is possible that Johanna Martzy's recordings were also made at Belvedere Studio, given her frequent recording activities that started in the early 1950s, and her work with German radio and record companies like Philips.
A limited edition of 500 historic vinyl records, signed by Ms. Tschudi, was released with her daughter's permission.
