Beach Party Radio Spots LP, 1964

This fun double-sided 33 1/3 rpm record of promotional spots for the AIP film 'Beach Party', starring Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, Dick Dale, Jody McCrea, Candy Johnson, Buddy Hackett, Don Rickles, and a host of others, features various different radio commercials and teasers to use on air for promoting the upcoming '64 movie.  There are 5 60second spots, 4 30second spots, and 7 10second teasers, some voiced by an announcer, and the others voiced by Annette, and by co-star John Ashley.  One of Annette's spots starts out, "Hi, this is Annette.  I almost said Hi Mouseketeers"  : ) 

 

The record itself is in very good condition, and comes in its original paper sleeve.  The vinyl has speckels embedded in it, obviously from its initial pressing, but it doesn't impede the sound quality at all.  The only thing, at least on my record player, is that it doesn't advance from one commercial to the next - you have to manually place the needle at the beginning of each one.  But maybe it's just my machine.  It's an oldie, and not quite a goodie.  If you're a fan of those great beach films from the '60s, this is really a fun thing to have.
