Description
You are bidding on a 2nd pressing of John Coltrane's "Ballads" album, originally released in 1963 on the Impulse! label. These early mono Impulse! pressings of John Coltrane are highly sought after and would make a fine addition to any Jazz enthusiast's collection.
The record is in beautiful condition with only some slight hairlines on each side which do not affect play. I would grade it an EX.
The matrix in the dead wax is "A-32 A 2 Bell Sound sf" on side A, and "A-32 B 2 Bell Sound sf" on side B. There is some distortion that can be heard on a few spots on a couple tracks where Elvin Jones really hits his cymbals, which is present on all Bell Sound pressings.
The jacket is in EX- condition, and would be EX+ were it not for a small piece of laminate loose on the back side left edge.
Comes with original ABC Paramount company inner sleeve.
