Description

This is an auction of a very rare John Coltrane - Blue Train - ORIGINAL PRESSING BLUE NOTE 1577 with the 47 WEST 63rd NYC address and with DG DEEP GROOVE LABELS AND NO COPYRIGHT R with circle. Engineered by Rudy Van Gelder - an "ear" and 'RVG" stamped in the deadwax trailoff of both sides.

Record is visually graded as VG or VG+ with some fading and light stains on the labels and many light scratches but PLAY GRADES VG++ to VG+ with slight background noise in some passages, beginning of 2nd track side 2 has heavier ticks for first minute or so. The first track on side 1 has a 1 second skip that my cleaning has not been able to remove - maybe you can. Still very enjoyable example of the very rare and collectible mono original pressing.

Cover is G+ with taped seams with edge wear, some wear, writing and discoloration on back.
