John Coltrane Coltrane Jazz
Coltrane Jazz was recorded in 1959 (“Village Blues” in 1960) and featured pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Jimmy Cobb – all veterans of Miles Davis’ band in the late 50s. The album boasts three standards, “My Shining Hour,” Little Old Lady” and “I’ll Wait and Pray,” but it’s Trane’s original compositions that sing. The album followed the classic Giant Steps chronologically, but both albums set the artist’s course for the amazing recordings that followed in the 60’s.
This is the ORG Limited Edition, remastered reissue pressed at Pallas on two 12” 180g platters at 45 RPM in Stereo. It is an open promotional copy (note blacked out bar code, pictured). There are two slight dents in the top edge (pictured). Vinyl is mint. A great audiophile find.
