Description
This is an auction of the incredibly rare John Coltrane and Alice Coltrane - Cosmic Music - SUPER RARE first edition on the Coltrane Recording Corporation label - Stereo AU-4950.
One of the rarest Coltrane LPs you can find - if you can EVER find it!
This record looks Mint- both sides - I have also PLAY GRADED it - side 1 is Mint- and side 2 is VG++ (slight background noise, pops or ticks in spots).
The cover is VG and has many flaws - these include ring wear, edge wear with 3 neatly taped seam splits - these are at the top and right front of the gatefold cover, and the top of the back of the gatefold cover. There is a fist size spot at upper left of discoloration on the front from what appears to be a coffee stain. There is a small spot at the upper right of paper tear - to the right of the word "stereo". Inside the gatefold cover there is a small 3" spot of center seam wear.
In spite of it's cover flaws - this LP is ferociously rare - and comes up for auction much less that the rare but more common Blue Note LPs. A must for any John Coltrane collection and impossible to find in any condition.
