A landmark, genre-defining album, Giant Steps has been hailed as John Coltrane’s finest work. Coltrane and his bandmates create compelling, frenzied, and beautiful sonic landscapes which helped revolutionise jazz. Released in January 1960, Giant Steps was John’s first album devoted entirely to his own compositions and confirmed his command of tenor saxophone as well as his emerging skill as a composer.
