This is the rare Van Gelder-stamped mono test pressing of John Coltrane “A Love Supreme” on the white labels of Impulse A-77. Date-stamped on December 31, 1964, just 22 days after the December 9 recording session. The playing surface of Side A has a few light, superficial, inaudible paper scuffs; Side B is immaculate; both sides have a high luster; possibly unplayed. “A Love Supreme” is one of the most important jazz recordings and is the signature session of John Coltrane.
