Estate find.
Original 1962 stereo issue, orange & black label, NO deep groove, VAN GELDER stamped in dead wax; plain paper inner sleeve; PROMOTION black ink stamp & PROPERTY OF PENN STATE JAZZ CLUB red ink stamp on inside of gatefold cover. While this copy was obviously used for promotional purposes, it is not technically a typical "promo copy" of earliest pressing run vintage.
John Coltrane Quartet with McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison & Elvin Jones.
Record is VG & VG+: VERY SHINY & CLEAN with just a couple faintly audible scuffs (ON SIDE A TRACK 1 ONLY) + various superficial inaudible visual only scuff marks which don't affect play. No skips. Almost no spindle wear. Plays great!!!
Cover is VG: top seam totally split; bottom seam partially split; minor edge, corner & ring wear; otherwise sturdy.
No reserve.
