Dykes' Magic City Trio- Frankie / Poor Ellen Smith- Brunswick 127- rare early southwest Virginia country 78 record.
Shows some light scratches and scuffs.
Dykes "Magic City" Trio were a square-dance band active during the 1920s. John Dykes played the fiddle, Hubert Mahaffey played the guitar and Myrtle Vermillion played the autoharp. The trio came from the Virginia region and recorded two sessions in the 1920's, thanks to Dock Boggs, who introduced them to the record company. Although they found some success, they did not record again.
As usual, we will be listing many 78 records from recent estate sales in the West Virginia and southwest Virginia area. Records are in used condition with possible scratches, dings, scuffs, edge chips, etc. Records are all used and untested so they are being sold with very low starting bids and no reserves. Sold "as is" with no guarantee of playing quality. No returns due to fragile nature. Please look carefully at the photos before bidding. We try to take good photos that show all areas and scratches are generally clearly visible.
US sales only. Shipped by USPS media mail. We pack with care using cardboard stiffeners on records and then floating that packet in a larger outer box. We will combine shipping, up to the number of records that will ship safely together.
We can upgrade to priority mail and/or signature confirmation (additional cost) if requested. We will automatically upgrade to Priority at our expense for higher value records or packages (over $50) and any packages over $100 will require signature delivery and will need to be signed for at delivery.
