VINYL is VG/VG+
Richly lustrous vinyl has a few light hairline scratches/scuffs on Side 1 that mostly do not affect play. Side 2 has even fewer. Both sides play incredibly bright, bold and super clear with occasional, very low level, background tics, mostly at beginning of sides. Silver on Black "2-line" TAKOMA labels are superb with only a very few faintest lines in high-gloss label stock. No spindle trails.

COVER is VG+
Snapping bright and extremely clean, front and back. No soil, writing or stains, One mild corner crease and a pin-hole u.l. corner. Bottom left of front has a small area of ink over-print (very light indeed) and a bit of aging tone at lower right side. Back has a very small (1/4" x 1/8") surface tear at upper right and thin area of age toning at l.l. edge. Seams and spine are completely intact with only a few very small spots of wear. No splits.

• Side 1 label credits 'Blind Joe Death', Side 2 credits 'John Fahey'.

• Folkways-style black stock cover with paste-over semi-gloss white titles sheet with black print.
• 'Takoma C 1002' at top left of front cover, Bottom reads "This record is a limited pressing, second edition."
• Back cover has the Printers Union Local 367 seal printed at lower right.
• "TAKOMA RECORDS: Box 2233, Berkeley, Calif. 94703" printed to left of, and in-line with, Union seal.

TRAIL-OFF etchings:
?Side One: TAKOMA VOL. I    SIDE 1
?Side Two: TAKOMA VOL. I    SIDE 2
a glyph that appears to be "SLS" in interconnected letters
also in trail-off wax both sides.

NOTE: the "FIRST EDITION" (of 100 copies only) of BLIND JOE DEATH was recorded and issued in 1959. Fahey re-recorded almost all of the material for this, also quite limited, 1964 edition, where it appears for the 1st time; as Fahey felt (correctly) that his technique had improved so much in the intervening 5 years that they would benefit from being recut.
