John Fahey ~ Death Chants, Break Downs & Military Waltzes
Piedmont/Takoma C-1003
This is the very rare first pressing of C-1003 from 1964, and is different from the 1965-66 pressings which also had this black & white cover. Two addresses are printed on the cover -
Washington DC and Berkeley. 65-66 pressings do not have the Washington address, only Berkeley. The labels also have slightly thinner horizontal lines than on the later pressings.
This copy is complete with the liner notes insert.
The vinyl is visually in VG+ condition. Retains a nice shine with some scattered surface scuffs and hairlines. No deeper scratches. Clean labels.
Plays a solid VG+ overall with mild to moderate surface noise in spots. No jumps or skips.
The cover is in VG+ condition. Looks great overall. There is a 2" split on the top seam at the open side where the soft black paper underneath the white slick has cracked,
and a 3" area on the bottom seam at the spine side where the black paper has eroded. The spine is fully intact with no splits. There are some pen markings on the back, and a name
has been written on the back as well.
The insert is in VG+ condition with a tear on one side and some musical key annotations pencilled in.
