CHECK OUT WHAT VINYLVULTURE.CO.UK HAD TO SAY ABOUT IT:

Fiddy's next commercial release is an altogether more coherent and satisfying affair-no track skipping here! 'Dum Dum' (Philips, 1972) is top quality groovy cheese from the opening 'Dum Dum Theme' all of the way to the end. You get the idea of the gangster themed tracks just by looking at the sleeve. Check the titles; 'Vendetta', 'Art the Grass', 'The Bootlegger'...we get the idea now! The music itself is beat and brass heavy with a high reliance on tenor sax huffing to carry the gangster motif, but also with some mighty fine organ work from Steve Gray, especially on 'Cosa Nostra'. Something of a rarity, and deserving of much wider recognition; if you ever see this one do not hesitate for one second-buy it!

TRACKS: THE DUM-DUM THEME, DRAGNET, THE BOOTLEGGER, DEATH IN THE FAMILY, ART THE GRASS, THE UNTOUCHABLES, COSA NOSTRA, VENDETTA, THEME FROM THE GODFATHER, PETER GUNN, NEW YORK RUMBLE, WALK ON THE WILD SIDE.
