John Hammond LP Big City Blues (Fontana TFL6046 UK 1964 SIGNED BY ARTIST) NM/EX

On Fontana (Cat: TFL6046) Vinyl LP released in UK 1964, and signed by John Hammond on the front cover.

The record was play-graded & is in perfect condition, with hardly any spindle marks, and no clicks or crackles nor any jumping or sticking. The record is graded NEAR MINT. The cover is in near-perfect condition, and is graded EXCELLENT. See my descriptions below.

The labels are clean with no writing or labels, and visually the record looks in great condition. The record was play-graded & has a perfect sound, with hardly any spindle marks, and no clicks or crackles nor any jumping or sticking.

The cover has a laminated front and matt rear, with no labels or stickers. On the front surface is ‘Best Wishes John Hammond’ written in ballpoint pen – see close up photo of the upper open-edge corner. The front has only about half a dozen thin short hairline creases near the edges (most are at the upper edge). All edges and corners are in near-pristine condition, being sharp and free from creases. About 2cm from the lower edge, and parallel to it (near the fontana trademark) there is a thin mark that extends approx. 7cm. The mark is not continuous along the 7cm length, but is evident in a series of short thin marks – see close-up photo. The spine labelling is easily readable, having no wear along its length. The rear surface is in great condition, being very clean with no writing, labels or sticker damage. There is some slight ‘buckling’ of the paper surface near the spine edge – see photo. The cover is in such great condition given its age, that I have no hesitation in comfortably grading it EXCELLENT.

PACKAGING: This item will be protected inside a strong thick card pro-mailer with a stiffener – see my feedback.  I prepare a record for despatch by re-packaging it in a new polythene-lined inner sleeve, and place it separately from the company cover to avoid splitting the seam. The record could otherwise slip around inside and cut through the edge of the card cover. To add further protection, I place the whole package inside a polythene outer slip case. If you have any alternative request for packaging, please contact me before making payment.
