Description

I saw John Lee live in 1987 at a local Pizza parlor where he was promoting his latest album " Jealous ". A PIZZA PARLOR ! LOL ! This was a few years before John Lee's triumphant Grammy success with 'The Healer " and his new found ( again ) commercial success ! At The Pizza machine here in Modesto, Ca - not far from his home in the Bay Area -  John Lee took his 1987 blues-y , kinda dirge-y , album "Jealous" out for a spin in front of ...IDK...500-600 people. It was intimate and kick ass. The kicker was that after the show John set up a table where he was selling copies of his latest album . Can you even imagine? John Lee Hooker working his own merch table . I brought my copy of his seminal Boogie Chillun album hoping to get it signed. It turned out he was only signing copies of " Jealous " if you bought one and 8x10promo Pics - if you bought one. Fair. well, I bought one, my buddy bought one, my folks bought one and a few other people, but most people just left. I'm still stunned.  Anyway,I gave it to him and he was totally cool about signing it and  here it is on ebay almost 30 years on. The album is signed in ball point pen? fine marker maybe and a little smeared at the L in lee, but is JUST BEAUTIFUL ! It has been stored in a record protective sleeve all this time and the records themselves are in excellent condition. John Lee was NOT the worlds greatest handwriter - it looks nearly illiterate but its provenence is ABSOLUTELY GUARENTEED! ONE OF A KIND ! I CAN HAVE IT THERE BY CHRISTMAS !!
