Description
Artist & Album Description: John Lee Hooker was an American blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist, rising to prominence performing an electric guitar-style adaptation of Delta blues in his own driving-rhythm boogie style.
This is the only album Hooker made for the Impulse jazz label. Producer Bob Thiele partnered Hooker with session musicians all possessing jazz pedigree, presenting a unique setting for his music. The result is stripped down and sharp so John’s voice and guitar can be fully appreciated.
Record Grading and Condition: VG (Very Good) There are some scratches, particularly on Side 1, but plays OK with some surface noise.
Sleeve Grading: VG (Very Good) Gatefold presentation with some discolouration due to age.
Label & Authentication: Manufactured by Sparton, London, Canada.
Note to intending buyers: This posting is from a collection of Blues Vinyl LPs of varying quality and rarity bought in the 1960s and early 1970s then stored until now; therefore I have tried to be deliberately conservative in stating rating levels according to eBay guidelines. All feedback will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.
