Description

Up for auction from 1961 John Lee Hooker (Plays & Sings the Blues) Chess Records LP-1454 (Black Label) 1st USA Pressing. Album was purchased from a Good Rockin' Tonight telephone auction decades ago maybe played once since, and for this auction still remains basically in the same condition as purchased. Their original grading sticker is affixed to the poly protector sleeve with their grading of EX7 sp / VG-EX6 which I am also giving you my own grading scale. COVER: VG++ Has a bend to it with a bottom seam split, and very light discoloration on back from it's 61 years of age is overall very clean, and well preserved as shown. RECORD: Side 1. Strong VG+ Has two very long light scuffs with some tiny micro sleeve scuffing, and hairlines that all are superficial is overall very glossy as shown. Side 2. Strong VG+ Same as the first side with a noticeable scratch nothing can be felt all are superficial is overall still very glossy as shown, and both sides played much cleaner than my visual grading. LABELS: Both sides have spindle marks side 2 has a tiny tear around the spindle edge hole as shown. Will be packed in a new MoFi Outer Sleeve. Overseas bidders please message me for shipping prices.
