JOHN LEE HOOKER - PLAYS AND SINGS THE BLUES - UK 1ST PRESS CHESS RECORDS
CAT. NO. CRL-4500 MONO
Year: 1965 UK 1ST ISSUECondition: Cover is EX, Vinyl is EX.
On offer is a excellent pressing of J L Hooker's 'Plays and Sings ...', released in the UK in 1965 on the black and gold Chess label. This is a excellent John Lee Hooker blues album and certainly one of the best he recorded. It comes from our own collection and has been well cared for.
The vinyl is graded Excellent and is very clean, there are a few light spindle marks but there are no visable scratches or defects at all - superb example. Playback is excellent!
The front laminated flipback sleeve is very nice and clean, easily VG++ or better. The reverse is clean but has some ageing and ball point pen written along opening edge. The spine is solid and all text is clearly visable.
Gold on Black Labels are Excellent with some light spindle marks.
original plain paper inner sleeve is Excellent.
W e try to be as conservative as possible in Grading and give a clear honest description so you will be happy with your purchase.
