Description

John Lee Hooker - Whiskey And Women (2LP Gatefold 180g Vinyl) NEW/SEALED
Review
John Lee Hooker only ever played in E or open A tuning: any note further up the neck than the fifth fret was virtually unused, but he could do so much with the 30 notes at his disposal that many have since tried and failed to recreate his sound. Then he would provide percussive accompaniment by the simple and cost-effective expedient of sticking beer bottle caps to the soles of his boots - a true one-man band as economics dictated.   Hooker is not only a blues icon but a music legend whose songs, covered by countless bands, will ensure his name lives on. Yet there is nothing quite as potent as hearing them sung by their creator: sit back and enjoy two iconic John Lee Hooker Vee-Jay albums, 'I'm John Lee Hooker' and 'Travelin'.
