Up for bid is an extremely rare 12" single, "Happy X-mas (War is Over)," by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. This is an original promo, released by Capitol Records (SPRO-9894) in 1986. This was a special release - only available in the Richmond, Va area to benefit the Central Virginia Foodbank (through cooperation with Yoko Ono, XL102 (local radio station), and WTVR TV 6). The same song is on both sides - Happy X-mas (War is Over) (3:14) - pressed on white vinyl. LP is VG+, with a few faint scuffs and some light "pattern transfer" - marks on the vinyl from the thick interior vinyl protective sleeve. This is a limited edition 12" single, hand numbered 428/2000 on the front lower right corner of the jacket. LP retains a nice gloss. LP plays with light surface noise (some crackle and tics), which should be greatly reduced with a professional clean. LP is housed in a thick plastic interior sleeve for extra protection. Jacket is VG+, with no seam splits. There is light wear along the lip of the jacket. There is light ring wear on the front and back of the jacket. There is light wear on all corners. There are several light creases along the spine on the front and back of the jacket. (Every copy I have ever seen of this has had these light creases along the spine.) Don't miss this rare gem!
