Imagine is the second album by John Lennon. Recorded and released in 1971, it tended towards songs that were gentler, more commercial and less avant-garde than those on his previous album, the critically acclaimed John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band. The album is considered the most popular of his works. In 2012, Imagine was voted 80th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".

UK First press. The record and sleeve are immaculate as are the 33”x22” poster of John at his white grand piano photographed by Peter Fordham and infamous postcard sized photograph lampooning Paul McCartney. They genuinely look like they were bought just yesterday. See pics. All items are the genuine originals bought together by me in 1971 (not reprints or individual items put together to ‘complete’ the album). The LP is the original UK First Pressing issue 10-track LP on a special version of the Apple label.

A fantastic time warp copy of this rarity in amazing condition, a true investment grade item - get it while you can!

The album was released on 9 September 1971 in the United States and a month later, on 8 October, in the UK. Early editions of the LP included a postcard featuring a photo of Lennon holding a pig, in mockery of McCartney's similar pose with a sheep on the cover of Ram.
Both the front and back cover photographs were taken by Yoko Ono. A quote from Ono's book Grapefruit (the UK edition of which the Lennons were in the process of promoting) was also included on the back cover: "Imagine the clouds dripping. Dig a hole in your garden to put them in."

Inner sleeve has credits in a spiral, with artist photos. Flipside has lyrics in a 'starburst' style. All printed black on non-punched, unlined white paper sleeve. "Patent No.1,125,555 Made In Great Britain".
The inner sleeve & label titles this release "Imagine: John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band (With The Flux Fiddlers*)"
(*Most likely the ensemble of strings arranged by Torrie Zito).
On track B5 "J&P" are credited
A5 is titled "I Don't Want To Be A Soldier I Don't Want To Die" on inner sleeve.
B1 is titled "Gimme Some Truth" on inner sleeve.
Ascot Studios was Lennon's studio at his UK home, Tittenhurst Park.
