An original 1st press of P.O.B. on the UK Apple label from 1970. Matrix 1U/1U. Stampers 2-GP/2-RA. The labels are consistent with 1st press from autumn 1970. Please note that very 1st press hold the 'Maclen' credits - this joint publishing claim is dropped just a few months later. The heavy-set vinyl [significantly heavier than later copies] comes housed in an original super-thin spine fully laminated cover. Also included is the genuine lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Superb condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a few light marks either side and one small mark which sounds [see detail below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It's a fantastic rendition of this low-key classic and you need a really clean copy to do it any sort of justice. Interference is pretty much non-existent. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. And then just the one deviation - which is caused by a mark right at the end of 'God'. You will detect a few ticks over the final lines of the song "GOD".... ["And So Dear Friends, You Just Have To Carry On.."]. If you can live with this one rather brief aberration the remainder of the LP will absolutely knock-you-out. A stupendous rendition which with leave the listener captivated...
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has clearly been very carefully looked after down the years. Beautifully clean and shiny with only a couple of thumbnail creases evident on the front. Edge wear is light and the spine seems totally intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A lovely original specimen.
Inner (Ex) Has avoided the ageing process. No splits at all.
