Description
This is the first Plastic Ono Band LP recorded live in Toronto in 1969. The concept of The Plastic Ono Band was that there was no fixed line-up apart from John Lennon and Yoko Ono. For this concert they were joined by Eric Clapton on Guitar, Klaus Voorman on Bass and Alan White on drums.
Side one has John Lennon singing Blue Suede Shoes, Money, Dizzy Miss Lizzy, Yer Blues, Cold Turkey and Give Peace A Chance. Side 2 starts with Lennon announcing that "Yoko's going to do her thing now" and this side has her performing Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's only looking for her hand in the snow) and John, John (Let's hope for peace).
This record comes with a John & Yoko Calendar for 1970. Each month has a black & white photo plus a quote each from John (extracted from 'In His Own Write', 'A Spaniard In The Works' and various Beatles' song lyrics) and Yoko (extracted from her book 'Grapefruit Works'. This calendar is in pristine condition.
The record has some loud crackles at the beginning of side 1 and a few pops on Cold Turkey. There is a visible scratch starting on track 1, all across track 2 and finishing on track 3 which can be heard but is not as bad as it looks. Side 2 has some crackles but is in better condition, presumably because it has only ever been played twice - once to hear what it was like and conclude that I don't like it and once recently to check the condition (I still don't like it - sorry Yoko).
The laminated sleeve is in good condition but does have some creases and slight delamination along some of the creases.
