Description
For auction is an extremely rare original 1968 UK 1st pressing of John Lennon & Yoko Ono – Unfinished Business No. 1- Two Virgins.
John and Yoko’s first record was highly controversial, both the music and the cover. Only 5,000 UK 1st pressing copies were made, and this is one of them. Original 1st issue UK pressings of this record are rarely on the market, especially in this condition.
Apple Cat. No. 613012. Matrix: SAPCOR 2A-1 & SAPCOR 2B-1. The labels are in near mint condition with perfect center holes and only one very slight and faint spindle mark visible. The labels have the “Sold in the UK…” text and the Track Records logo is on the right hand side.
The original black inner sleeve is in very good (+) condition, with no splits or wear.
The cover is excellent condition. The nude artwork was shocking at the time of release and in the USA the record was issued with a brown paper bag covering the nude photographs. This UK 1st pressing was issued as is, no bag covering. The photographs included in this listing has the nudity partially covered to meet Ebay policy. The fully laminated white colored cover is extremely vulnerable to discoloration, and this copy has only very mild yellowing, mild ring impression, no edge wear, no spine wear, and no corner wear. There are a few minor creases on the lower corner areas of the front cover and some lamination lifting (not split or broken through) on the back cover near the spine. You will likely not find a cover in better condition.
The vinyl is in excellent condition, with no nasty marks and some paper scuffing and hairlines visible under bright and direct sunlight.
This copy plays in excellent condition, with no nasty pops or crackling, no jumps and only very light crackling and static.
Please note I am no longer shipping internationally. USA domestic shipping only. Unfortunately international shipping is too risky, expensive and frustrating for sellers and buyers as insurance is limited or unavailable and very expensive for the seller, the paperwork is tiresome for the seller, customs fees & taxes for buyers can be exorbitant, items can be held in customs for several weeks if not longer, and payment is held by Paypal for at least several weeks.
