John Lennon Yoko Ono Two Virgins 1968 UK 1st Press LP SAPCOR 613012 Mint Vinyl!
Here we have the rare UK 1st Press of Two Virgins by John Lennon and Yoko Ono released in 1968 on the Apple label, number 613012. Both labels have the Track Record logo and "Sold in U.K. subject to resale price condition, see price lists" and "Mfd. in U. K." This record is in absolutely Mint condition with pristine labels and vinyl that retains all its original gloss. No marks or blemishes can be seen under bright light. It plays great with no background surface noise noted. The matrix on Side 1 is marked SAPCOR 2A-1 and stamped 1 O. Side 2 is marked SAPCOR 2B-1 and stamped 1 O.
The laminated photo cover is in VG++ condition, clean and bright, front and back with no rub wear evident. There is no shelf wear evident at all. All keeping it from grading higher are some bends to the left side corners with a resulting small tear to the laminate on the back side. This likely resulted from storage as this record appears to have never been played. The original black die cut protective sleeve is included. It is completely intact with no rips or splits.
This was a very controversial album with its offending nude photos. It was released by Apple Records in May 1968. It was John Lennon's first solo attempt and it was "Made in Merrie England"!
