This is the Reissue of the 1968 Release with the Paper Bag concealing the Naked cover within--the Bag can be considered a sleeve for the jacket--easily removed and easily put back on depending on your mood. What was recorded is experimental Avant-Garde Musique Concrete...discover for yourself what it's like to be in Ringo's house in the middle of the night with John, Yoko and a tape recorder...!
Cover: Mint! Sealed!! (see photos) One of the most Infamous Covers in Music History! As decreed by the censoring parent record company, Lennon capitulated to have the Nude cover covered with a brown bag (bagism, anyone?) The Biblical quote was suggested by the Beatles' friend and Press Officer, Derek Taylor.

At the time of its release, this duo album by John Lennon and Yoko Ono gained its greatest notice for its cover, a photograph that depicted the two standing before the camera naked. The recording, too, can be described as naked, in that it contains no music that would interfere with one's ability to hear the normal sounds of life. The record is not unlike what you might get if you turned on a tape recorder for a random half-hour in your home -- snatches of inaudible conversation far away from the microphone, footsteps, wind, and so on. Conceptual "music" in the Cage-ian sense, yes, but not popular music of the kind with which John Lennon had been previously associated in any sense at all.price rating
