Description
JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO - 'TWO VIRGINS'
Only 5,000 copies of this album which was released on November 28th 1968. Due to the nature of the cover EMI agreed only to press the discs but refused to handle distribution or print the covers. The distribution was subsequently taken up by Track Records and a small independent printing firm 'Technink' was contracted to print the infamous covers.
The 'music' itself was the result of an all-night session of musical experimentation in Lennon's home studio at Kenwood with Yoko Ono and features 'avant-garde' pieces featuring tape loops from John's Mellotron, piano, organ, drums played by John together with sound effects and ad-lib comments and noises with Yoko.
This barely played STEREO disc comes from that initial UK batch and is on the dark green Apple label with the Track logo & catalogue number: 613012

Disc weight: 144g
The disc is housed within 'Technink Limited' printed to house the mono version of the LP with the printed wording on the front panel.
The covers for the stereo pressing had the text printed on the rear panel.
Complete with original 'Patent Applied For' plain white inner-sleeve.
N.B. UK copies were not supplied in brown paper bags.

Labels: EXCELLENT +
Clean & bright with no more than one or two faint spindle trails around each centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Both playing surfaces are clean & unworn with the only blemish being two small clouded areas on the run-ins on side 1. This was made during production and is commonly found on this LP. There are no scratches or any other visual marks or wear on the disc.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
Both sides of this barely played example play cleanly and clearly, with just a faint 'swish' for the first few minutes of side 1 as aforementioned blemishes pass through. There are no clicks, pops, jumps or any other audible faults or distractions.
Cover: EXCELLENT
Apart from some moderate age toning to this rare cover, there is very little else to fault. The front panel bears a single 'thumbnail' wrinkle and there is a faint disc impression from storage on both sides. Both seams and the unworded spine are fully intact.
