John Martyn - The Tumbler - 1st UK pressing with pink Island 'Eye' labels 1968
Rare 1st UK pressing with laminated sleeve. Some laminate lifting, mainly to front cover left-hand side & some light creasing/shelf-wear to corners & edges. Spine in great condition with text fully legible. A strong VG to VG+, others would probably grade higher & I've actually seen one on Ebay priced at double this one which is graded EX but in reality looks no better than this.
Vinyl has a fair few very light hairlines & light scuffs but nothing deep or scary. Playback is great, graded as VG but generally VG+ - the only thing I noticed was a very small skip right at the very beginning of track 1 on side B as the guitar intro starts, it's probably no more than half a beat or a note or two & is really not that noticeable. There will be a bit of light background crackle here & there as with any 50-plus year old record that hasn't been kept in a museum & untouched!
Priced very reasonably in my opinion & would make a fine addition to any collection. This is Martyn at his bluesy/folk best before he started to mess around with guitar effects & jazzy influences.
Will be well packed in a proper vinyl mailer, I've been buying & selling for a long time so know what I'm doing! Will also be posted signed-for, fully insured to selling price.
