VINYL RECORD GRADING STANDARDS
M / NM / EX / VG+ / VG / G+
MINT (M)
Perfect original condition, usually sealed, never played.
NEAR MINT (NM)
The record has been rarely played. There are no marks on the vinyl and it includes the original packaging. There are no audible or visual flaws.
EXCELLENT (EX)
The record plays almost like new, but may have some light marks that do no affect the play. The record shows little sign of wear. The cover may show some slight wear (ring or corners), but in general looks pristine with no significant creases/splits.
VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+)
A well-cared-for record that is less than perfect, but plays very well with no skips or distortion. May include light scuffs or scratches and a little surface noise, but nothing to compromise the record visually or audibly. The cover may show more ring and edge wear.
VERY GOOD (VG)
The record has been played a bit, but still has life in it. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but you can still listen and enjoy the record. The album is visually and audibly used, but still in decent shape.
GOOD+ (G+)
The record is well worn, but is playable. The record may have lot of surface noise and scratches; sleeves may have defects, but are still intact. Good+ would only be sold at a bargain basement price.
