Description

An original 1st stereo press of BW on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1W/1W - very 1st cut. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo gatefold cover. Also included is a blue and white Decca inner sleeve from 1968 - the time of release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In very nice looking shape and has only seen light use. Under close inspection i could only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. A beautiful player which is a difficult find on this particularly fussy Mayall title. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All I could pick out was a touch of lightest static occasionally in a couple of tracks [e.g. "W D I Belong"  & "No Reply"]. Nothing obvious or persistent.. very low-level...they just won't play quite as darn clean as the rest of the LP. Overall an an impressive and polished original copy of this Mayall classic.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) In stunning condition - don't think I've seen better... Back and front look very very clean and unaged - and importantly very nice and flat [this is unusual]. There's a touch of laminate lift along the spine edge [almost obligatory on this title]. The interior looks great without ageing - one slight surface abrasion down at the bottom of the spine [it almost looks like it's part of the design - but it isn't]. Edge wear is very light for this title and the opening edge is flat and still sharp [really unusual]. The spine is 100% intact - absolutely superb. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) Lightly aged. No splits, but poly-lining absent.
