Description

This is an intriguing rarity about which I can find nothing. I have three mono copies of Johnny Ace's Memorial album DLP 71, (all second printing from 1961 with the playing card cover) with which to compare it. This item (see pics) is Duke DLPS 71, both cover and vinyl labels and is clearly printed Stereo, but there is no mention of this LP ever being issued in stereo. I have carefully checked print size, color, style, paper weight and vinyl weight and can find no indication that it is a fake copy. For completeness the dead wax markings are: ST LP LRS 71A and 71B. The cover is in very nice vg++ condition, almost near mint. The vinyl is vg+ with some surface marks but plenty of gloss. In response to a question,it plays stereo.
