Description
This is the original deep groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Johnny Griffin “Blowing Session (Volume 2)” on the New York 23 labels of Blue Note BLP 1559. The playing surface is in excellent condition; the first track on Side 1 has ticks throughout the first third; t he rest plays beautifully – clear and crisp- with a few random non-repetitive tics; a few inaudible scuffs. The laminated West 63rd cover shows age toning and small writing at the lower right corner of the back slick; 3” clear tape repair on the top seam, at the opening; the bottom seam has six small flakes and 1” wear/split at the opening; lamination loss along the right side, on the front. Personnel include John Coltrane, Lee Morgan, Hank Mobley, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, and Art Blakey. $250.00.
