Johnny Kannis HITMEN Radio Birdman PUNK KBD SINGLE
You are bidding on the following item.
This is an original issue of the Johnny Kannis solo record “Under The Boardwalk / King Of The Surf”. Cat No: RCA 103131. Kannis was the MC for Radio Birdman at many of their shows and would later front the Hitmen. In the meantime he recorded this single at Trafalgar studios in 1977 with help from various members of the Radio Birdman camp and the record was put out by RCA! It was produced by Deniz Tek, engineered by Charles Fisher and has all the hallmarks of a Birdman recording including blistering guitars on a very Detroit sounding version of the flipside tune. This came out buried amongst the various major label releases for the week and duly sunk without trace. Probably very few copies sold at the time except to those in the know. Here is an opportunity to own this record. Record is in VG+ condition with scuffs on surface that do not affect the sound. Comes in original company sleeve. Kept in storage in smoke free environment for several years.
