Valued in this years record collector Guide at £100 and to be honest this is the one and only copy I have ever had or seen for sale in 20 years of trading, so their Opinion may be well under the true Value.
CONDITION.
SLEEVE.
The laminated Flip Back sleeve is simply stunning, the front laminate retains its deep shine and there is only one very small crease on the for "n" on "johnny" on the front sleeve, this is without a doubt the best condition E.P. Cover I have ever seen. The Reverse is briliant white and other than some almost non existant ageing belies its 40 years of age. I have taken some pictures all shown below that should enable you to understand how special this sleeve really is.
LABELS.
The Labels on both sides are quite superb, the very bright silver lettering is without blemish and is only one very small spindle trace around the center of each label that will confirm this EP was used at most 2 or 3 times, again i have taken pictures detailed below that should give a very good idea.
VINYL.
The vinyl is quite amazing, looking like a brand new record, there are only 2 or 3 very very light dust marks that back up the quality of the label, the deep shine on the disc and lack of any marks on the beginning run in groove confirm that this record has had minimal plays, the true mono sound from the deep grooves is a joy to listen to and this surely is really the only way to listen to Johnny Nash.
OVERVIEW.
At the time when this EP was made Johnny Nash was Introducing his vocal talents into the rock`n`rock / R&B / soul scene and only a number of years later did he make his name in reggae . His many film rolls meant on one occasion whilst filming Take a Giant Step (1958) he visited the carribean and later returned to work with Byron Lee, after all it is down to Johnny Nash`s own Recording studio in Jamaca and his constant support of little known Reggae Novice Robert (Bob) Marley that produced without a doubt one of the strongest influences in music of all time. His musical Genius and enthusiam will revered for years to come and this Gem of an EP looks sure to increase in value as time goes by.
