Description
For sale is The Jonah Jones Quartet's A Touch Of Blue, originally released in 1960 by Capitol Records. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers D-4/D-6, indicating that an early stamper was used to make this first edition. These pressings are sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. Doing this preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any original insert(s) or inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is Excellent with oxidation due to age. The cover is graded as Excellent because of a little ring wear and a small price sticker on the top right hand corner. The spine is Near Mint. The Vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of some slight sleeve marks, but play graded as Near Mint. This is the best copy of this very rare album that I have ever seen or heard, and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, given the fact that this record is 56 years old and a first pressing in Near Mint condition. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
