Excellent example of the 1980s chicha/cumbia andina genre from Peru that mixes Andean huayno from Indigenous Peru and cumbia from Colombia and paints it in sci-fi colors and woozy, bluesy drunken melodies. Los Ovnis (UFOs) were part of the 3rd wave of cumbia peruana and started in 1976 in Huancayo in the central highlands of Perú; by the mid-80s they’d hit their artistic stride & were popular in the Indian barrios of Lima. Echoey guitars, fun synths, plaintive vocals – classic! Huancainos para siempre! You don’t find this record in the USA. Not on Discogs either.
Cover: VG+ Has minimal wear (still in plastic) – nice shape over all!
Vinyl: VG+ (very conservatively graded ) more like EX.
