Description
Offered here is a mega rare original 1969 copy of the first LP by these legendary Texas outlaws on the Hookah Label (LP H-330). The cover of this copy is VG with water damage on the left lower front and the right lower back. It is not significantly waved, but it is lightly stained (see scans). There is moderate shelf wear on the lower edge, but no seam splits. The vinyl is a very strong VG++ (near mint as I don't use the EX grade). It is still bright and glossy with a few light hairline scuffs which can be seen under a strong light. These do not affect play. Being from Texas as I am, I have seen over a dozen copies of this record over the past thirty years or so. Every copy I have seen has had the same small pressing flaw on side two, track one (situation). The pressing plant had a bad spot on their stamper. Fortunately, it causes only four to five light pops on this copy rather than the loud pops I have heard on other copies. Also as with all copies of this LP there is some crackle in some of the quieter parts and in between some of the tracks. These were in the pressing. This record was around in Texas untill the late eighties, but has long since disappeared. The reserve is reasonable. Thanks for looking.
