This is an official release. It is not a bootleg, as many forums and websites claim. 

Basically, read my feedback. If it was a dodgy release, the people who have purchased it so far would have had something negative to say, surely? 

It is shipped from Hong Kong, because that is where it is manufactured. It costs a lot more to manufacture a Blu-Ray in Europe or North America etc.

Journey is an American 70’s rock band. Formerly known as Golden Gate Rhythm Section, the band was formed in 1973 by Santana manager Walter James ‘Herbie’ Herbert in San Francisco, California. It was then composed of former ‘Santana’ members Neal Schon (lead guitar) and Gregg Rolie (lead vocals and keyboards), former ‘Frumious Bandersnatch’ members George Tickner (rhythm guitar) and Roy Valorie (bass) and ‘The Tubes’ alum Prairie Prince (drums). After a radio contest was held to look for a catchier name for the group, it became what we know today as Journey.

 Prior to their success, Journey went through some turnovers. The first to leave the group was drummer Prairie Prince who rejoined his old band. Aynsley Dunbar replaced him. In 1974, the new line-up signed up with record giant Columbia Records under which they made their first and self-titled album. Before their second album’s release, guitarist George Tickner left the band.

After having three commercially unsuccessful albums, the band decided to reformat by way of adding new lead vocalist Steve Perry in 1978. With the new addition and renewed determination, the band debuted with the album ‘Infinity’ which went platinum. Over the next several years after their first bestselling album, Journey went on to gain more and more popularity and of course, sell millions of albums. In 1981, their album ‘Escape’ sold 9 million copies and their songs ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ and ‘Open Arms’ became international anthems.

Just when things started to look up for the band, lead vocalist Perry took time off to make a solo album. Upon Perry’s return, however, a conflict ensued among the members that led to the band’s disintegration. Keyboardist Gregg Rolie left the band and was replaced by Jonathan Cain. By year 1986, Journey’s music career was once again in a limbo that led to its disbandment.

In 1996, Journey made a comeback with the album ‘Trial by Fire’ which contained the Grammy-nominated hit song ‘When You Love a Woman’. Despite the album’s success, a plan for Journey’s concert tour was scrapped off on account of vocalist Perry’s hiking accident for which he needed to get surgery. However, Perry refused to get surgery prompting the rest of the members to look for a new lead vocalist. Perry left the band.

In 1998, the band hired Steve Augeri as replacement to Perry. Drummer Deen Castronovo replaced Steve Smith who dropped out when Perry left the band. Subsequently, the new line-up released the album ‘Arrival’ and a four-track CD.

In 2005, Journey embarked into a tour as they celebrated their 30th anniversary. That same year, the band was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2006, Journey took another meandering turn when lead vocalist Augeri had to drop out because of a throat problem. To replace Augeri, the band hired Jeff Scott Soto whose singing career with Journey was short-lived as the band decided to look for a new vocalist in their move for a new direction.

That new direction led to the discovery (via Youtube) of Arnel Pineda, a Filipino singer who covers Journey songs as he performed with his old band, The Zoo. The band debuted the new vocalist during their concert tour in Chile in 2008. They also released a new album Revelation which became commercially successful, selling nearly 200,000 copies within just two weeks and eventually reaching platinum.

And as though album sales were not impressive enough, their summer Revelation concert tour went on to win a record as one of the highest grossing concert tours of 2008. The tour was recorded and a DVD of Journey’s concert footages were released in 2009. Looking forward to more success with their new vocalist, Journey announced the second leg of their Revelation tour this 2010.
