Inner sleeve: rough / textured with straight corners.
Vinyl: translucent green (very rare)
This is an excellent copy of the seminal post punk second (and last studio) album by Joy Division. A masterpiece of music production by Martin Hannett, the album oozes sinister and portentous discord which mirrors the poverty of Manchester at the turn of the 80's and reflects the death of Ian Curtis both in sound and design. The vinyl has no discernable surface marks, is scratch free with little to no static at all between tracks. I have owned this album since purchased in 1980 and it has been cared for like a baby: and it has excellent, clear audio throughout. I would describe both the sleeve, inner sleeve and the audio as near mint. All in all this is an excellent copy of this seminal album and would be a collectors final copy.
This pressing was pressed on translucent green vinyl which was even rarer than the translucent red pressing. This can only be seen when held up to a very strong light. Same label on both sides!
I am a collector of 1960's and Punk records and all the albums have been regularly cleaned and played on a pioneer PL 12D and Rega turntable using both elliptical and spherical styli so that I can give you an honest evaluation of sound quality and not just a visual inspection. I have played the album through several times using an Ortofon 2M Blue, a cartridge that can be unforgiving, and am really pleased with the audio quality. You will be too: it really is near mint for a 40 year old record.
I value the records I sell appropriately and so can be a little higher than others, but you can buy with confidence that the record will be as described and of a quality that will grace your turntable. All records will have a plastic protective cover and will be sent in a proper record mailer. Postage costs include full insurance for loss or damage in transport.
