Description
A very rare copy of Joy Division's first albumn 'Unknown Pleasures'.
This is the first ever album ever released by Tony Wilson's infamous Factory Records and carries the FAC10 catalogue number. The producer was Martin Hannett.
The cover is designed by Peter Saville, back then an unknown Art school graduate and now a highly successful graphic designer of international acclaim.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unknown_Pleasures for full information.
This is an authentic original first release, with the textured cover as per Saville's iconic design, and the record appears translucent red when held to a lamp. The condition is near perfect, remarkable considering it is over 30 years old. I have never played it, so cannot comment on condition of the record but it looks in full working order.
As a bonus I have included a pamphlet from the Peter Saville exhibition at Urbis in 2004 which features the record cover.
Bid on this item to own a unique part of Manchester's proud musical heritage.
