Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Released by Factory Records. FACT 10 (Matrix TOWN HOUSE FACT10 A2 GG + TOWN HOUSE FACT10 B2 GG) Issued in 1983.
Rare in this condition. It has hardly been played!!!!
All items included are the genuine originals:
1 x 12" Vinyl - Labels have the cover motif on each side but one with black ground/white wave form (Outside) and the reverse on the B-side (Inside).
1 x white inner sleeve that is made from glossy card/stiffened paper. One side has the track listing + times with credits. The other side has a small photo. Square edges.
Outer sleeve with RHS open for vinyl. Textured on both sides. Text at base LHS at the back says 'Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd'.
I'm no expert, but have been as critical as possible based what I would want to know if I was purchasing. All graded below.
Seeing as it can be a contentious issue, I do not clean the vinyl other than using an anti-static brush.
Vinyl/Visually - Excellent. Some minor surface marks, that I would class as acceptable due to movement in sleeve that are only visible under a strong light. Under normal light unblemished.
Vinyl/Playback - Near Mint. After playing each side 3 times on my Rega Planar 2, I would say it is jump/click-free with virtually no back ground noise. It is close to immaculate. Very crisp and clean sound, even in the quieter section of playback.
Labels - Excellent. A (Outer) has 2 small tram line marks at the top and bottom of the label but stops either side of the design. It was like this when I bought it. When I run my finger over them they are slightly raised. I believe these are very slight creases when the label was applied. B (Inner) is Near Mint.
Cover Sleeve - Excellent - Colours still very strong including central images at the back and front. No splits. Very little evidence of ring wear at all. Spine still very strong and square apart from the odd infrequent and slight spine crease. Very little signs of edge wear apart from slight instances at 3 of the 4 corners. On the outside front, a very slight crease at 1 o'clock and very slight scuff mark at about 7 o'clock. Outside back, mirror image of the crease mentioned on the front of the cover. Slight scuff mark at 7 o'clock near the base. Top and bottom show a slight outline of where the flaps of the cover have been glued.
Inner Sleeve - Near Mint. - No splits. Colour still strong and clean. Poly-inner will be provided for shipment.
