Description
A rare original ‘ruby red’ copy of Joy Division’s seminal 1979 debut ‘unknown pleasures’ in exceptionally hard-to-find strong EX to NM condition. From my personal collection. The ruby red means it is one of the initial batch of 10,000. Original textured sleeve with ‘Garrod & Lofthouse’ markings. Rounded corner inner sleeve.
A Top Example of this much desired record. One of the best examples I’ve seen - and I’ve seen a few! Fit for the most serious collector. Bound to increase in value over time if kept in this condition. A sound investment.
Sleeve: a very strong EX. Unlike most other copies, the black textured sleeve has hardly rubbed to white in any places. Minimal ringwear, which is very rare for this edition indeed (the textured sleeves tend to deteriorate quite badly). Very light rubbing visible only under light, with minimal rubbing to corners. No major defects to speak of at all - only a small handful of minor ones too! Appears lush, clean and nearly flawless under normal lighting conditions.
Inner: A definite NM. Near perfect with only the slightest creasing, visible under a light source. no rips, tears, etc.
Wax: A strong EX. No warping. Both sides are very clean, with only a couple of light hairlines, visible under strong light, that do not affect playback. No Spindle Marks. Looks barely played.
Labels: Inside: Mint (perfect in every way). Outside: EX some small white mottling and indentations, apparently imperfections in the manufacturing process.
