Joy Roberts – ‘Someday We’ll Be Together’ / Sound Dimension – ‘Everyday People’ – Studio 1 blank (JA)
More Studio One excellence here with two great tunes back-to-back: Joy Roberts’s cover of Diana Ross & The Supremes’ ‘Someday We’ll Be Together’, which is in itself a cover, of the composers (with Harvey Fuqua) Johnny Bristol and Jackey Beavers’ 1961 original on Tri-Phi. Flip is Sound Dimension’s gently swinging version of Sly and The Family Stone’s ‘Everyday People’. Both tunes were huge hits in 1970, which is when this beauty came out. An original blank Studio One single, matrix numbers C&N 5-IX and FCD 7204, respectively. In top condition; don’t miss it!Condition: Excellent, a really great-sounding copy (please listen to the clips). Clean labels; the A-side has the classic ‘7/6’ price and ‘Jamaica Record Manufacturers’ stamps as well as title information in thin ballpoint. Likewise on the flip, though nearly invisible (please see scans).

Please note that like many other sellers of reggae on eBay, I’ve been the victim of so called ‘fake bidders’, bad minded people with no intention of purchasing the item they bid on and whose only game seems to be to ruin the auction for buyers and sellers alike. If your feedback is less than five, please get in touch with me before bidding, or I may have to cancel your bid.
In the event that the record is won by a ‘fake bidder’, to save time, I will sell it to the second highest bidder before attempting to relist it. Obviously, the second highest bid will have been raised, as it were, artificially by the ‘fake bidder’. To the extent that it’s possible (this isn’t always the case), when making a Second Chance offer, I’ll try to lower the selling price to one increment above the third highest bid by way of offering a discount or free shipping (or both).
