51 years ago this album first appeared in stores across North America.....'Who Knows Where The Time Goes' (EKS-74033) was released around Christmas 1968 by Judy Collins and remained on top of the charts for nearly 30 weeks and went gold shortly thereafter.
The possessor of an incredibly pure voice which made her famous on the world's folk circuit, Collins was a brilliant interpreter of others' songs more often than a prolific songwriter, as this timeless album demonstrates. In my humble opinion, this is Judy Collins at her absolute finest.
On offer is a very early and very likely a first U.S. pressing from its initial release in November 1968. From the construction of the gatefold jacket with heavy boards; to the weight of the vinyl record inside, there is little doubt that this is indeed an early example. The ones that appeared later in the year have "Gold Record Award" stickers and/or are substantially lighter in weight. First issue labels are gold/tan in color and have a large "E" at the top. Rare as they are, sealed copies do come up once in a while but in this kind of condition....almost never. A real gem and undoubtedly, a final upgrade copy.
