Long Plays are grade visually and conservatively under bright lights and questionable marks are play graded.
Near Mint is new condition but not sealed.
Near Mint- is almost new.
E+ might have one or two light scuffs yet plays without any noticeable background noise.
E has scuffs and might have light noise between the soft passages.
VG+ has some noticeable sound defects and might have a few light scratches. Usually worth 1/2 cost of Near Mint album.
VG usually plays well without skips. Has more noticeable wear than a VG+. Only worth collecting for Rare albums.
All Long Plays are boxed carefully in corrugated boxes made specifically for Long Plays, plus the Long Plays are housed in clear plastic sleeves.
